Dr. Travis Procell was born and raised in Baton Rouge, so the Greater Baton Rouge area has always been home. He is an LSU Tiger twice over. He finished his undergraduate degree at LSU in 2002, then earned his DVM from the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine in 2008.
After veterinary school, Dr. Procell spent eight years in practice in Dallas. Working in a big city gave him a wide range of experience with dogs and cats of every age and breed. Still, Louisiana kept calling him home. He returned to care for pets in the same community where he grew up, and he has been part of the Prairieville Animal Hospital family ever since.
Dr. Procell focuses on dentistry and eye care. Healthy teeth matter more than many pet owners realize, since dental disease can cause pain and bigger health problems over time. Regular cleanings and checkups help keep pets comfortable as they age. He is a member of the American Veterinary Dental Society, and his work is a big part of our dental care service. He is also a member of the American Society of Veterinary Ophthalmology. From irritated eyes to more serious conditions, his ophthalmology care helps protect your pet's sight and comfort.
Dr. Procell brings big-city experience and hometown heart to every visit. He takes time with each pet and each family, and he explains things in plain language so you always know what is going on. He knows this area, its families, and its pets, because he is one of its own. If your dog or cat needs a dental checkup, an eye exam, or just a caring doctor, call (225) 677-5005 or visit our appointment page to book a visit with Dr. Procell.
