Dr. Victor Goss

Ophthalmology & Cardiology

Dr. Victor Goss was born in Metairie and raised in Northern Virginia. He found his way back to Louisiana and has served in the Louisiana Air National Guard since 1994. His path to veterinary medicine started from the ground up. In 1999 he joined Prairieville Animal Hospital as a veterinary assistant, learning the daily work of an animal hospital one patient at a time.

While working here, Dr. Goss kept pushing toward his dream. He earned a BS in Animal Science in 2002. Three years later he earned his DVM from the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. Then he came right back to the same hospital where he started. He has been caring for the pets of Ascension Parish families for more than 20 years now.

Dr. Goss has special interests in ophthalmology, cardiology, and internal medicine. Eye problems can be scary for pet owners. He takes time to explain what is happening and what can help, and you can learn more on our ophthalmology page. He also has a strong focus on the heart. From murmurs to ongoing heart disease, his cardiology work helps dogs and cats live longer, more comfortable lives. His interest in internal medicine ties it all together when a pet's illness is hard to pin down.

Few doctors know this hospital the way Dr. Goss does. He started here as an assistant, earned his degree, and grew into one of our trusted veterinarians. His years of service in the Guard reflect the same steady commitment he brings to his patients. If you want a doctor who is patient, thorough, and kind, we would love to set up a visit.
