Radiology and Ultrasound
Some answers cannot be found from the outside. When your pet is limping, vomiting, or just not acting right, imaging lets us look inside the body without surgery. Our hospital uses modern digital imaging equipment to get clear pictures quickly and comfortably.
Digital X-rays help us examine bones, joints, the chest, and the belly. They are our go-to tool for finding fractures, checking the heart and lungs, spotting swallowed objects, and evaluating arthritis. Digital images are ready in moments and are sharp enough to catch fine detail.
Ultrasound gives us a different view. It shows soft tissues and organs in real time, so we can watch the heart beat and examine the liver, kidneys, bladder, and intestines. It is painless and does not require any radiation. Together, X-rays and ultrasound help us diagnose problems accurately and plan the right treatment.
Imaging works hand in hand with our in-house lab. When your veterinarian can see the pictures and the lab results in the same visit, you get answers and a plan sooner, which matters most when your pet is sick or hurting.
If your pet needs imaging, or you have questions about what is involved, call Prairieville Animal Hospital at (225) 677-5005. Our team will walk you through every step.
